MATH MADE EASY TUTORING OF DELAWARE

POLICY PAGE

Below is my tutoring policy. Please read it carefully. You will need to agree to ALL terms of the policy in order to partake of my tutoring service.

availability

I am available for tutoring 7 days a week from 9 am to 12 am EST. There are 3 days during the year in which I do not tutor: Thanksgiving, Christmas and Super Bowl Sunday. I am available for tutoring all other days and holidays.

Rate information

My basic rate is $32 per hour. This rate is for tutoring only. If you are seeking homework in addition to tutoring, the rate is $36 per hour. All lessons should be scheduled with at least a day's notice.

Same day lessons

Sometimes, you may not want to wait a day for a lesson. My same day lesson rate is 150% of the rate. If your normal rate is $32 per hour, the same day lesson charge will be $48 for the hour.

Tardiness

I will wait 10 minutes after the start of the lesson for the student to arrive. If the student does not show, I will close the virtual classroom. However, you will be able to notify me after I leave the lesson to rejoin. Keep in mind that you will be charged for the full hour if I rejoin the lesson.

cancellations

If you need to cancel a lesson for any reason, you have at least 12 hours prior to the start of the scheduled lesson to do so. Lessons canceled with less than 12 hours of notice will be charged a cancellation fee of $18. Continued last-minute calculations within a 3-month period will result in future cancellation fees of the full rate, or an increase in your hourly rate. If you cancel a lesson with less than 12 hours of notice, but schedule a make-up lesson the same week (or before the next scheduled lesson), you will not be charged a cancellation fee.

missed lessons

Missed lessons (no shows) will result in a cancellation fee of $22. Continued missed lessons over a 3-month period will result in future cancellation fees of the full rate, or an increase in your hourly rate. Also, if a lesson is missed, and you would like to schedule a make-up lesson for the same day, the cancellation fee will be waived, but you will be charged for 150% of your rate. I normally don't submit the charge for the missed lesson until the end of the day. or the next day. Nevertheless, if you have missed a lesson, and you contact me the same day to reschedule the lesson the same week (or before the next scheduled lesson, if you are a weekly client), the cancellation fee will be waived.

Regarding weekly lessons

If you are a client that is set up on weekly lessons, and a lesson is missed (lessons that are canceled ahead of time do not apply), you have up to 24 hours to contact me and acknowledge the missed lesson. Failure to do so will suspend all future lessons until I hear from you. Also, if future lessons are suspended, your weekly time slot will become available, and you may lose the slot to another client. To avoid losing your time slot due to a missed lesson, you can agree to pay the full lesson charge as the cancellation fee. That way, you will not need to contact me to acknowledge the missed lesson, and your future lessons will continue to be scheduled.

payment information

In order to partake of tutoring services on the Wyzant website, your credit/debit card information is stored. After each lesson, Wyzant charges your payment method. There may be times when your payment information expires or Wyzant is not able to charge your account due to insufficient funds. In either case, you will not be able to receive lessons until the payment information is updated. If a lesson is missed because your payment information was not up to date, once it's updated, you will be charged a cancellation fee for the missed lesson. NO EXCEPTIONS!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • For students who have their own Wyzant account, my purpose as a tutor is to help you learn math topics that you are struggling with, which will help you obtain a better grade in math. However, my purpose is NOT to complete your homework for you nor to take a test for you.
  • Please note that when you schedule a lesson, you are charged for the duration of the lesson, whether it is for an hour or for half an hour. Leaving the lesson before the duration will not reduce your charge.
  • When you/your child enters the virtual classroom, and the lesson begins, I expect the student to be ready by enabling the microphone and to (if the student chooses to) be on cam. A student who is in the classroom, but has turned off the webcam and has muted the microphone is considered absent, and thus I will leave the classroom if there is no response. If this happens, you will be charged the full price of the lesson.
  • Because I am a full-time tutor, I receive several new student inquiries for my service on a weekly basis. Unfortunately, I am not able to accommodate everyone who desires service due to my full schedule. Therefore, I ask that you show courtesy by assuring that you or your child attends the scheduled lessons. Missing a lesson means that a client who is seeking a lesson could have utilized your time slot. If you or your child is not able to attend a lesson, please cancel at the earliest convenience, so that other clients may use the time slot to receive lessons.
  • UPDATE: There are times when you may need to cancel a lesson, which is totally fine. However, if you are a weekly client who is consistently canceling lessons, (for instance, canceling 3 lessons in a 5-week period), you may lose your time slot to another client due to inactivity. First, you will be warned about the canceled lessons. If the cancellations continue, though not likely, your time slot could be CONSIDERED as an option for a new client who is seeking weekly lessons. If the new client chooses your time slot, you will lose it, and you will be notified. To avoid this action, you could consider scheduling lessons as needed in lieu of keeping a weekly schedule.

Thank You for Allowing Me to Serve Your Math Tutoring Needs. I Am Here to Help...Always!
